When does Techsted start crawling my blog/opml list ?
Techsted will crawl your blog in the next hours after you've added your blog or OPML.
Will my blog be listed on Techsted straight away ?
No. We crawl your site during 1-2 week and see if it qualifies to be featured on the frontpage.
So keep checking the website.
Why do you have this 1-2 week "testing period" ?
1. We need to ensure that Techsted remains spam free.
2. We also need to check that the blog reaches an acceptable standard.
How do you determine if a blog is suitable to appear on the front page ?
We use an algorithm to determine which sites we should crawl and there are different parameters which are taken into consideration, among which :
1. Content : it must be related to technology.
2. Lead : leading rather than following and copying others.
3. Frequency of updates
4. Quality of posts : a 2 line post is not enough.
I can't see any posts from my blog on Techsted. Why ?
We periodically review your blog if it is suitable to appear on the front page.
If it falls below a certain level, we will stop the crawling it until the next review.
